The area of the Lark showing is underlain by Lower Permian limestone of the Stikine Assemblage and argillites, wacke and turbidites of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. A Triassic batholith (Hickman) contacts the Stuhini package on the east side of the South Scud River in the vicinity of sample 90G-16-F02. The limestones are found west of the South Scud River in the area of boulder sample 90F-16-W24.

Two mineralized showings were found on the Lark claims. The first showing consists of a boulder 0.5 metre in diameter which assayed 43.9 grams per silver, 34.95 per cent zinc and 0.47 per cent cadmium (Sample 90F-16-W24, Assessment Report 20788). The boulder consisted of predominately box worked weathered cellular smithsonite (secondary zinc carbonate) with minor malachite. Outcrop is limited and the showing is associated with a soil geochemistry anomaly. It is believed that the boulder is close to its outcrop source.

The second showing consists of minor chalcopyrite in quartz micro-veins within the diorite. This showing contained up to 0.0774 per cent copper (Sample 90G-16-F02, Assessment Report 20788).

Work History

In 1989, on behalf of Ticker Tape Resources, one day was spent prospecting on the Lark 1-4 claims. During this day, 9 rock samples and 2 stream sediment silt samples were collected.

In 1990, on behalf of Ticker Tape Resources, a total of 34 man days were spent on the Lark 1-4 claims. During this time, 1 kilometres of base line was cut and 10.9 kilometres of flagged grid lines were run while soil sampling. A total of 507 soil samples, 13 stream sediment silt samples and 36 rock samples were collected. A VLF-EM and Magnetometer Survey was conducted on three of the grid lines for a total of 2.175 kilometres.
